St. Kitt's Birthday!

Turning 70 is kind a BIG deal this year for both of us, so we decided that we'd celebrate each in a BIG way.  Don planned a week in St. Kitt's for my birthday week.  We had stopped at St. Kitts for a shore stop on a cruise four years ago and enjoyed the day, so we decided it might be a great place for a week.

First stop was Colorado Springs as Don was needed to help with a basketball clinic at an elementary school for the day on March 3.

Friday, March 4 we flew from Denver to Miami and spent the night there. On Saturday, March 5 we flew to St. Kitts on about a three hour flight.  From the airport there we took a taxi to the St. Kitts Marriott and checked in.  Quickly upon getting to our room we were upgraded to a one bedroom suite due to the sliding glass door not working in the first room. Fifth floor (top floor) and ocean view with a huge balcony.  We were pleased with the upgrade!

We had a huge living area

We spent many days on our beach on the Atlantic Ocean side which was windy and the ocean was full of waves.  The beach was big and barely any one was there.  Reading and relaxing!!

One day we took a taxi to the Caribbean Sea side to have a beach day there.  Reggae Beach was our destination.  On the way we stopped an overlook to see where the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea meet.

We enjoyed many evenings of lobster/fish meals at "beach shacks" within walking distance from our hotel.

We hired Troy who worked security at our hotel on one of his days off to take us on a trip around the island and give us details of history and interest.

BIRTHDAY DAY!
We signed up for an all day sailing, snorkeling, beach time on Nevis tour.  Dinner was at Camador, a fancy beach restaurant.

Sunday, March 13 we flew to Miami to spend the night and then on to Phoenix for work.

What a wonderful birthday week!!
