From Florida to Virginia

 On Saturday, February 12 Don and I flew to Roanoke, Virginia.  With a rented car we drove to Blacksburg to see Mike and Stayce Jones and two Virginia Tech basketball games.  Don and Mike are long time coaching friends and Mike was an assistant coach on the USAB national teams with Don.  Mike is the head associate coach at VT and this is his first year with them.

Monday:  VT v Virginia.   VT won!

Super Bowl Sunday

Tuesday we flew back to Iowa.  Short trip with two college games and an evening at Mike and Stayce's new home.

Florida!

January 21 - February 12   Three Weeks in Florida!  


Week One:  Kissimmee 


Good-bye Iowa!!



A week at Magic Tree Resort

And it was cold in Kissimmee!


We played many, many games & cards

Sweatshirts and blankets needed most of the week.

It warmed up by the end of the week.

Week Two:  Treasure Island, St. Petersburg 

We stayed at the Treasure Island Marriott while the rest were at Coral Reef on St. Pete's Beach.  On the drive over to St. Pete's we all stopped at Parksdale for strawberries.

Week Three:  Cocoa Beach

From the west coast to the east coast of Florida for week three.  We exchanged a timeshare and stayed at the Ocean Landings Resort while the rest stayed at Discovery.  Most days were again cooler and cloudy with the end of the week improving for beach days.  The highlight was heading to Titusville for the famous meal of rock shrimp!
