The basketball season is over for the MP Hawks, so let's head to Florida! While I was in Florida in January Don booked us for a return so that he could have a chance to get away in the winter. We do so love retirement!!
Our trip to and from Florida was a round about trip. Thursday night the Golden Hawks lost in their second district game so Friday morning we drove to Chicago to see the Chicago city basketball tournament finals. Two of Don's current USA players were playing - Jabari and Kendric. It was great fun to see them.
After that game we drove to Springfield, IL to see another USA player, Larry, play in a regular season game. We enjoyed eating out with his extended family after the game!
Sunday we drove to Indianapolis to see Brent and family! We enjoyed a quick Sunday evening play time with the boys before we flew out Monday morning.
Our first destination in Florida was Gainesville to see Brad Beal (one of Don's USA team members from the first 2 years) play at the U of Florida.
From Gainesville we went to Kissimmee to see mom and dad. While there we enjoyed many days of sun at the pool, games of sequence, rest and relaxation. Don and I had tickets to the three nights of NBA All Star games and activities.
We drove to the gulf coast to see Bob and Lori. A stop off at Parksdale for strawberries was necessary.
Walking the beach, hanging out together, and two great eating out nights were on the agenda. We had a delicious ribs dinner as the sun set one night and fish/shrimp and chips the next night at Cafe 776.
Our route home was more round about than the going. We flew into Indy and Brent met us with our car at 11 pm - thanks, Brent! We drove for several hours and finished the trip the next day to get to Apple Valley, MN to see Tyus (another USA team member) play.
Then we headed to Minneapolis to stay the night at Don's brother's house. Thanks for the great hospitality, Dennis, Sara, Theo and Owen.
February in Florida - we loved it!

The JOYS of BOYS! Part 2
After a weekend with our boys in Indy, it was time for the Kahler boys. No school on a Monday for Landon means time with Nana and Papa! We picked up Landon and Owen on a Sunday night for a sleep-over and play day. Landon says that we "rescued" him from daycare.

The JOYS of BOYS! part 1
We have 4 little grandsons and we LOVE the joys that come with these little boys! We were delighted to spend the weekend in Indy to see the Showalter boys! They came to the hotel to swim and then I spent time at their house while Don was in meetings. So much fun!

Landon Turns 6!
Landon - our sweet first grandson is now 6 years old. I would love to slow time down because those six years went so fast. How can he possibly be in kindergarten already? Where did that time go?
Legos was the theme and pizza was his choice for lunch.
Little brother, Owen gets a few presents too.
Birthday cupcakes!
We played Lego Bingo with lego pieces and lego prizes, of course.
Landon tackled one of his new Legos - all 458 pieces! He is quite an expert with these.
Six years of fun! We love you Landon!
