Birthdays in Indy

Cam turned 8 on August 20 and Don turned 69 on August 22, so we headed to Brownsburg, IN to help Cam celebrate on his Friday birthday after school that day. Saturday morning Kasen and Cam had soccer matches and then Hoopers came over in the afternoon for a pool party and birthday cake. Sunday everyone helped Don celebrate his birthday after church.

Day Trip to Clear Lake

Wednesday, August 4 we took Don's mom to Clear Lake to meet up with Dennis as she's off to visit in Minnesota for a week or two. We had lunch together at Perkins in Clear Lake before Dennis and Iva took off. Don and I made the most of the day by visiting the Surf Ballroom and the the Little Brown Church in the Vale near Nashua.

Mom and dad married at this church on December 27, 1947.  They had celebrated their 70th anniversary shortly before mom died.  It was fun to imagine them getting married in this beautiful church.

Las Vegas Again!

July 16 - 21

Sunday, July 16 we took off for Las Vegas for the second time this summer. Don, along with Andrea and Jay conducted two days of youth camps. Sunday evening we watched the USAB Men's Olympic team defeat Spain.  We stayed at The Cosmopolitan and enjoyed a steak dinner at Gallager's and Chilean sea bass at Joe's.
