Covid Isolation in Kauai!

This was our year to get Brent and family for Thanksgiving, but COVID deemed that Thanksgiving gatherings needed to be canceled to keep everyone safe. >As we were dealing with the disappointment we decided we might as well take off to isolate in Kauai for two weeks, which quickly became four weeks! We needed a negative covid test 72 hours before boarding the plane and completing much health paperwork. On November 22 we arrived in Kauai and celebrated Thanksgiving on the 25th with a turkey dinner at the pool! We stayed three weeks at one of our favorite places, the Kauai Marriott in Lihue, then headed to Poipu for the fourth week. Sun and 80 degree weather made for a very pleasant isolation. On December 2 Kauai closed down the island by making everyone that arrived after that quarantine for 10 days. We were fortunate to be in before this happened. We were some of the very few tourists around! We flew home in time for Christmas.

Two Weeks in Colorado in the Fall

We needed a change of scenery so off to colorado we go! We drove to our loft in Colorado Springs for a few days and then off to Steamboat Springs for a week of hiking, biking, working and relaxing STEAMBOART SPRINGS Day 1 - Steamboat Lake

After a week of fun we headed back to the loft in Colorado Springs for a few days and then drove back to Iowa. What a refreshing get-away!
