4th of July Family Fun!

It was a fabulous 4th of July!  Brent, April, Cade, Kasen and Cam arrived late afternoon Thursday to spend the three day weekend with us.  Melissa, Scott, Landon and Owen arrived on Friday (the 4th) after Melissa and Landon ran a 5K in Cedar Rapids and Owen did a kids run.  They stayed over for the weekend also.  Celebrating the 4th, a family wedding and having fun together!

Waiting for the parade in Coralville.

It was a good parade with LOTS of candy.
Cam sucking his fingers as he was missing a nap.
The Kahlers arrive after the parade.  Don grilled for dinner and then the play time begins!

Scott and Melissa fixed the July 4th dessert - yummy.

Hungry boys
The weather was great for outside play.

We invited mom and dad to come for supper and have a chance to see their grandkids and great grandkids.

Playing games and watching the World Cup soccer game.

Time for sparklers!  And then bed for the boys - sleep-over style in the family room.

Good night, boys.
Such a fun day together.

SATURDAY - The Day of Austin & Tia's Wedding!

Legos and car races dominate the morning.

And Now It's Summer

MEMORIAL DAY
We spend Memorial Day and a few days having a great time in Brownsburg, IN.  Family and friends gathered at Brent and April's house for swimming and eating.  It was a great day.  Don and I enjoyed the next few days playing with the boys!

Cade has become quite the good swimmer!

After the Birthday Bash weekend we kept Landon and Owen overnight.  Scott still had a teacher day before he was off for the summer.  We decided to do a Herky hunt around Iowa City and Coralville.  We managed to find and photograph 14 (out of 83).

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO
Don was helping with the U19 training camp so we spent a few days in Colorado.  The highlight was the Lionel Richie concert at the Red Rocks theatre.

The Kahlers invited us to join them for an evening while they were camping at Coralville Lake.  We enjoyed the fire and making s'mores.
